NintendoLand (insert what it's called here)

Well, as you see at the top the logo says,

Image

But, next to it says "NintendoLand Forums"

But then on the main site a link to here says "»Message Boards"

So which one is it?

NintendoLand Forum?
NintendoLand Forums?
NintendoLand Message Board?
NintendoLand Message Boards?

And also, is a "Forum" the place that holds "Boards"? Like for example; The NintendoLand Forum has the Mario Board.
Or is a "Board" a place that holds "Forums"? Like for example; The NintendoLand Message Board has the Mario Forum.
Or is "Forums" a place that holds, well "Forums"? Like for example; The NintendoLand Forums has the Mario Forum.
Or is "Boards" a place that holds "Boards"? Like for example; The NintendoLand Message Boards has the Mario Board.

Discuss.

Anything really works.

Forums hold Boards, which hold Threads, which hold posts.

A board holds forums
The NintendoLand Message Board has the Mario forum.

That's why the banner of NL when we had vBulletin was "NintendoLand Message Board." I think whoever created the banner made a mistake.

EDIT: I heard this when I was on some other message board. Not sure on the credibility, but I guess I just went with whatever I heard first.

It's also a bulletin board, hence phpBB. :)

I think "forum" and "board" are essentially interchangeable. Anyway, I've always referred to the entire thing as "a forum," and simply avoided referring to the component parts directly, which may and/or may not be right and/or wrong. The point is, it's not really that important.

I call this the Nintendoland Message Boards. I call the thing that holds the threads/topics a forum.
